Slumber Realm on Steam

Picture this: It’s 1997. You just finished playing your favorite game (Slumber Realm, obviously), grabbed some colored pencils, and created a masterpiece that absolutely deserves to be seen by the world. Back then, you might have mailed it to your favorite video game magazine and hoped it showed up in the fan-art section. Well, it isn’t 1997, so you can send it directly to us through internet tubes!

The Slumber Realm Fan Art Contest celebrates the amazing, weird, colorful, creative fan art that filled the pages of 1990s gaming magazines.

And here’s the best part: Your artwork could actually appear in Slumber Realm when the game launches November 4!

So fire up your imagination, grab your pencils, markers, paintbrushes, drawing tablet, or whatever you create with, and show us your most bomb Slumber Realm fan art.

CONTEST DETAILS

HOW TO ENTER

Entering is easy-peasy, lemon squeezy.

1 Create Your Fan Art

Your artwork can be created using just about any artistic medium, including:

  • Digital illustration
  • Colored pencil
  • Pen and ink
  • Paint
  • Marker
  • Collage
  • Traditional drawing
  • Interpretive dance (j/k, but if you feel inspired, go for it!)

Your artwork may feature existing characters, enemies, locations, or ideas from Slumber Realm, or you can get completely creative and invent something new inspired by the game. The field is wide open.

2 Post It Online

Post your artwork publicly on at least one social media platform using:

#SlumberRealmContest

And make sure to tag Slumber Realm (or Chugga Games), if possible, on any of the platforms where we currently have a presence.

You can post your artwork to platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, X, Bluesky, or other social channels. Feel free to post your artwork across multiple platforms. Doing so may also help your chances in the Audience Favorite category.

3 Email Your Entry

Send your artwork to:

artcontest@chuggagames.com

Please include:

  • The words “Slumber Realm Fan Art Contest” in the subject line
  • Your name or online creator name (how you want us to credit you)
  • Your artwork
  • Links to the social media post(s) featuring your entry
  • The title of your artwork, if it has one

Your entry is not considered complete until we receive both your email submission and at least one qualifying social media post using #SlumberRealmContest.

CONTEST DATES

The contest begins:
October 1, 2026
Entries must be received by:
October 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET)

Entries received after the deadline will not be eligible.

NO AI ART

This contest is about celebrating human artists.

All submitted artwork must be 100% human-created.

Generative AI-created or AI-assisted artwork is not eligible. This includes artwork substantially created or modified using generative AI image tools. Traditional digital art tools such as Photoshop, Procreate, Illustrator, drawing tablets, photo-editing software, and similar creative applications are absolutely allowed. If your artwork is selected as a potential winning entry, Chugga Games may ask you to provide reasonable evidence showing your creative process. This could include sketches, layers, work-in-progress images, project files, or similar materials.

So keep those progress shots!

HOW MANY TIMES CAN I ENTER?

As many times as you want! Entrants may submit multiple pieces of artwork during the contest. However, each person may receive only one winning placement in the contest. If one artist qualifies for more than one winning category, Chugga Games may select another eligible entry so more artists have a chance to be recognized.

HOW WINNERS WILL BE SELECTED

We plan to recognize four winning entries.

Three Judges’ Selections

Chugga Games will select three entries based on factors including:

  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Artistic execution
  • Personality
  • Connection to Slumber Realm
  • How well the artwork captures the fun, strange, imaginative spirit of the game
  • Bonus points in our hearts for artwork that feels like something we might have seen mailed into a gaming magazine in 1997

There is no required art style. Professional artists, aspiring artists, doodlers, and enthusiastic fans are all encouraged to participate.

Audience Favorite

One additional entry will be recognized as the Audience Favorite.

Chugga Games will consider organic audience engagement generated by qualifying contest posts across submitted social media platforms. Engagement may include likes, comments, shares, views, reposts, and similar interactions depending on the platform. Only legitimate, organic engagement will be considered. Artificially generated, purchased, manipulated, botted, or otherwise fraudulent engagement may result in disqualification from the Audience Favorite category. Chugga Games reserves the right to make the final determination regarding the Audience Favorite winner.

WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT

Winners will be revealed during a special announcement on November 3, 2026, where Slumber Realm creator Brian Cronin will announce the winning artists.

WHAT DO WINNERS GET?

Each selected winner will receive:

A Steam key for Slumber Realm

and

Their winning artwork featured in a special fan-art section inside Slumber Realm.

Your artwork could literally become part of the game.

Selected artwork may also be featured on Slumber Realm and Chugga Games social media accounts, websites, livestreams, promotional materials, and other channels celebrating the contest and the Slumber Realm community.

KEEP IT EVERYONE-FRIENDLY

Slumber Realm may get weird. Your artwork can get weird too. But keep it appropriate for a general audience roughly the kind of material you’d expect from an E or E10+ video game.

Please avoid artwork containing:

  • Explicit sexual content or nudity
  • Extreme or graphic violence
  • Hate speech or discriminatory material
  • Derogatory or harassing content
  • Obscene material
  • Content primarily intended to shock or offend
  • Copyrighted characters or material belonging to third parties outside of Slumber Realm

Chugga Games reserves the right to reject any submission it determines is inappropriate for the contest or the Slumber Realm community.

  • Social media
  • Websites

Submitting artwork does not guarantee that the artwork will be included in the final game. Chugga Games reserves the right to accept, reject, remove, or decline to feature any submission at its discretion, including an entry receiving significant social media engagement.

  • You created the artwork yourself.
